No Child Left Behind; Implications for OT
Presented with peers regarding the newly implemented NCLB law and
how it influences occupational therapy. Presentation was sub-divided into; IDEA vs. NCLB, IEPs, Alternative Assessments, Special
Education, and Attitudes by those influenced by NCLB.
Parkinson's Disease
An informational presentation on etiolgoy, prognosis, and treatment options for individuals
with Parkinson's Disease.
Multifamily Housing-Environmental Assessment
Presented information based on the MEAP and Universal Design assessments at two congregate living facilites for
the elderly. Focused presentation on community accessbililty, autonomy and safety.
Assistive Technology for Persons with Spinal Cord Injuries
Presented a case study of a person with a C6 SCI. Information was provided
based on assisstive technology for activites of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, recreation, and intimacy.
High and low tech options were provided, as well as two technologies that were personally invented for the purposes
of people with spinal cord injury.
Hemorrhagic Stroke
Informational presentation based on a
case study of a 28 year old patient using an illegal substance resulting in a hemorhage at the junction of anterior and
middle cerebral arteries. Etiology, prognosis, treatment,
and anticipated occupational performance were provided.
Multiple Sclerosis
Informational presentation regarding etiology, prognosis, symptoms,
and the neurological effects of MS.
Traumatic Brain Injury-Case study
A partner and I completed 4 treatment sessions with a client who sustained a
TBI. The COPM was administered as well as a cognitive and motor assessment. Short-term and Long-term goals were created
for cognition and motor. Treatment plans were planned and carried out. A presentation was done of the treatment sequences.
Hand Splint Presentation
Static-Progressive hand-based splint. I identified wearing schedule,
purpose, use, and when to adjust tightness.

Masters Thesis
Is Participation Limited after Posterior Circulation Stroke?
After ten months of research I presented my data. I compared the participation and percieved
stroke recovery of two groups; anterior circulation and posterior circulation strokes. I concluded that there is not statistical
significance between the two groups as they present with the same outcomes.
Looking Good!
In a naturally occuring retirement community I provided an informational booth on self managment.
The booth provided information on chemicals in skin care products and the importance of sun screen.
Camp Somewhere- Program Plan Proposal
In a group of my peers, we created a summer camp for kids with disabilities. We established
a mission statement, budget, objectives, strategies to meet objectives, and program layout.
